From Boston to the World

Boston, Massachussetts

After a year out of college, while my mind was still set on being a big-time entertainment lawyer in NYC, I decided to brush up on my interview skills and try for a travel job that was the MOST coveted job in my hometown of St. Louis for the 20-something crew. My competitive side pushed me to just see how hard this job would really be. Getting the job entailed weeks of different interviews and call backs with multiple visits back to the company. I got the job. I was thrilled, but now what? I was still enrolled at Suffolk University in Boston for law school, I had my life all planned out …

Then my whole life changed, I chose experience over law school. This path has taken me to some of the most beautiful places in the world and allowed me to create incredible experiences for people all over the world.

One of my first incentive programs was taking an oil company’s top performers through the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. The group had to be moved through thousands of people to get in and out of the opening ceremonies, smaller groups into the different sporting events and finally after a successful few weeks, we took the final group to the closing ceremonies. All of this while learning about risk management because of the Centennial Park bombing incident AND dealing with a no-hotel situation (our group was placed in rented housing units). It was thrilling, exciting, scary at times, but overall it was a wonderful experience that I’ve treasured and it kept me in the incentive travel business for another five years.

In 2002, I took on another adventure by creating and starting an events company, Cosmopolitan Events. This company grew and grew. I found myself adding staff and winning awards while creating special, lasting memories for individuals and businesses throughout St. Louis.

But the allure of the incentive travel business has always tugged at my heart. Cosmopolitan Events has grown to stand on its own, and now it’s time to venture back into the great wide-world of helping businesses invest in their employees to create winning teams and happy employees within the workplace. Working in an environment where employees feel important and validated makes all the difference, and I want to champion that experience for your business, so your employees feel like they’ve won a gold medal.
